Site Update…Life Update

February 12th, 2008

As you can see after 2 years or so I’ve finally spruced things up around here. The theme is changed, it’s a bit simpler, but it’s also a bit classier. The chatroom and webcam should now work together quite nicely during EvAv Radio nights!

Things have been busy as Co-Optimus has really started to do well, and I’ve been trying to promote and tweak the hell out of it to give it some serious exposure. It’s amazing what you have to do to get yourself a decent search ranking. What’s especially interesting is if you search for co-op games the results you find aren’t nearly as useful as the content available on Co-Optimus.

My gaming is finally starting to pick up again, having just completed Turok for a review that I’ll be posting in the next few days. I also started Devil May Cry 4 on the 360. I had received the PS3 version, but after hearing about the 25 minute install time I figured I might as well stick it to the man and show support for the game that you play on an actual console. Ya know, the one that doesn’t require PC like functionality.

I’ve been looking at the upcoming months and it’s going to be another insane year for trips with the Microsoft MVP Conference, a Disney Vacation, E3, a trip to Colorado and finally PAX in August. I’m gonna be racking up some serious airline miles!

Finally it looks like I’m going to enter the world of Macs soon, and I think I’ll be snagging either a Macbook or a MacBook Pro before the end of the month. Anyone have any tips for a newbie?

Another New Site - The Weekly Release

October 23rd, 2007

I just launched a new site.

The Weekly Release.com will chronicle the releases for Games, DVDs, HD DVDs, Blu-Ray Discs and Movies every week.  It’s something I’ve done for 4 years now at Evil Avatar.  Now I’ve just centralized it.

May Musings…Gamings, Responsiblities and Such.

May 9th, 2007

It’s been a busy few months for myself. As the temperature warms up, so do the responsibilities. Getting ones yard in decent shape isn’t always the easiest thing, and it’s definitley time consuming (and cost consuming). Even though I’m busy with home owner type responbilities I’ve been finding as much time as possible to jam out in Guitar Hero 2. The game is still as addicting as ever, though I’m having a hell of a time on the Hard difficulty level.

I’ve also been trying my hand at Catan. I’m really digging the game, but it seems the AI likes to cheat. And while the game is lots of fun multiplayer it isn’t without it’s problems. There have been some technical issues with connectivity, lag and dropouts. On top of that the multiplayer games take quite a bit longer than singleplayer due to all the waiting for a player to finish their turn. While such is the nature of the beast, it can get annoying at times, especially if you are just trying to squeeze a game in here and there.

The PS3 gets rarely a play anymore. I checked out a few demos and videos. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a nice cleaned up version of the XBox original. It maintains all the frustration of the original games, and honestly…I don’t know if I can put myself through playing the game again. I was always so angry when playing the game on the original XBox. I saw a pretty tight video for Super Stardust HD, so I’m itching for this to be available on the PSN. I’ll definitley be checking that out.

Finally the last of my time has been spent watching the NHL Playoffs. Amazingly my Red Wings are in the Conference Finals. They are going to face a tough Anaheim team (one that swept them 4 years ago), so it should be another long and grueling series. On the flip side, the Buffalo and Ottawa series is going to be a doosy. It’ll be penalty and score filled and an absolute blast to watch.

New Server

March 13th, 2007

I’ve quietly and covertly moved to a new server.

More to follow….

New Pages Added

February 7th, 2007

In addition to the new chatroom, I’ve added two more pages ported over from my old website.

The Massacre of the Fairies info page allows you to download MoF V0.96 Beta. The game is an arcade style shooter with over the top gore, and crazy weapons.

Also added to the page is my home theater construction log. This was a project I started back in 2005 and completed in early 2006. Enjoy!

New Chatroom

February 2nd, 2007

I’ve updated our Chatroom to use CoolToys chatnetwork. Gone is the Parachat Java mess. I’m hoping people like this one better, if not I can alway switch back. This one is a little more browser friendly.

You can create an account and customize your profile now as well. Enjoy!

You can see it Right here!
