Nerdcore Picks - Ooops I missed One

Well, I missed yesterday’s pick. I’ve been pretty busy with getting ready for PAX.  With that I give you a preview video of Nerdcore Rising and their announcement for PAX.

Hopefully I’ll post more later.

Nerdcore Picks - Day 4

As we enter PAX week the Nerdcore picks keep coming in.  Up next is ytcracker, the self proclaimed king of nerdcore.  While ol’ YT has been rapping for a while about anything from spammers, gamers and programming; it’s his latest project that really garnered my attention.

The Nerdrap Entertainment System is a collection of 7 songs with classic NES game music in the background.

We finished Contra… with only one life, finished Metal Gear 2… with only a knife.

Nerdcore Picks - Day 3

Some consider this group one of the founders of Nerdcore, but the reality is there are numerous others out there.  That being said, these folks took it mainstream.  Optimus Rhyme lays down some serious beats why waxing poetical about all of geekdom and more.

The great thing about Optimus Rhyme is that they support a lot of other groups.  Just look at their website on the right side.

AutoBeat allies sink with the ship.
Toss back drinks with a stiff upper lip.
Portable wet bar, fully equipped.
Stabilized coasters for when the bus dips.

Nerdcore Picks - Day 2

Up next is one of my all time favorite Nerdcore groups.  Unfortunately it looks like their main website is down, but their MySpace page is still live with plenty of clips to listen to.

FSR raps on just about anything.  Old school geekdom, World of Warcraft, even Back to the Future.  And while it’s a bit crass at times, the lyrics are usually hilarious.  Their latest alblum, Hotel Corral Essex can be download for free - if you can find it.

My hard drive is huge, MP3s are external, backup off the urinal and write in my LiveJournal

At the puter all night cause my life is nocturnal, Data backup assures that my porn is eternal.

- Futuristic Sex Robotz - “Welcome to the Internet” -

Nerdcore Picks - Day 1

For my first Nerdcore pick I’m going to go with a fellow I just recently discovered, Jesse Dangerously.

Jesse has been rapping for over 5 years now about everything geek related.  The production values on his latest stuff like the above Verba Volant alblum are amazingly good.   You can listen to some samples of his work on this site.

I can’t tell no lies, I’m a fresh phenomenon
A madhatter badder than the necronomicon
