Scene It: Lights, Camera, Action Review

November 13th, 2007

When you have an actual movie theater in your basement, you tend to consider yourself a fan of movies. So when I heard popular board game Scene It was making it’s way to the Xbox 360 I knew it was time to fire up the popper. Scene It: Lights, Camera Action is also the first Scene It to feature Hi-Def movie clips and unique games. Best of all, the game comes with four easy to use gameshow style controllers adding to the experience.

Those of you that have played the Scene It board game (or one of the 30 variations of it) should feel right at home, but the core of the game is changed a bit though. For one, the Scene It Xbox game doesn’t actually have a game board, instead to win you compete through 4 rounds of play and score points by answering questions as fast as possible. Players don’t take turns answering questions, instead both teams can answer most of the questions at the same time, with the fastest response getting the most points. There are also other challenges where players are required to buzz in and answer, with a wrong answer allowing the other team to answer in too.

Transformers Pay-Per-View?

June 22nd, 2007

If this turns out to be true, I’m going to be a very happy person. Especially if the PPV is in HD.

UberPulse has learned that, for the first time in Hollywood’s history, a local studio, namely Paramount, will release next month’s live-action Transformers movie, on cable pay-per-view, the same day it premiere’s in US theatres, on July 3rd. But don’t hold your breath… the price tag for that special night might deter more than one: $49!

At $49 I think that’s a steal. Considering going to the movies with concessions for two people easily costs $30-35. Now I can watch the movie in the comfort of my own theater (see above) along with friends. Hell at my house alone I could show this on two screens at once to at least 10 folks. We’d have real theater popcorn and butter, and I could even sell stuff out of my concession stand! I hope this turns out to be true.

New Pages Added

February 7th, 2007

In addition to the new chatroom, I’ve added two more pages ported over from my old website.

The Massacre of the Fairies info page allows you to download MoF V0.96 Beta. The game is an arcade style shooter with over the top gore, and crazy weapons.

Also added to the page is my home theater construction log. This was a project I started back in 2005 and completed in early 2006. Enjoy!

The Exploding TV Stand

August 22nd, 2006

Glass furniture may LOOK nice, but it sure doesn’t play nice. You might want to think twice about getting a glass TV Stand for the nice expensive electronics.

All was fine for many months, and then, just last month, I happened to be sitting in the next room, when I heard a tremendous crash. I thought that a plane had hit my house, and I ran into my bedroom to see what happened. The top shelf of the Avdeco stand EXPLODED sending shards of glass to every corner of my bedroom. Fortunately for me, I wasn’t sleeping at the time, or I would have been hit by flying glass.
