The Seattle Trip

I recently got to go to Seattle to visit FASA Studios to check out Shadowrun. Of course the flight out there couldn’t be any more nightmarish. Iwas originally supposed to fly from Allentown to Chicago to Seattle. Iwould have left at 10AM Eastern and go there at 2PM Pacific. Insteadmy flight was delayed to Chicago and I would have missed my connection,so then I was sent to Washington DC, unfortuanately this flight wasn’tuntil 2PM Eastern. So I sat around in LVI for 4 hours waiting for myflight, hopped the plane to DC only to find out my flight from DC toSeattle was cancelled. So I stood in line at customer service for anhour, and magically got put on a flight to Las Vegas to Seattle. Ifrantically ran across the airport to the new gate and got on the planeto Vegas just as the door closed. But alas…the end was not near. When I arrived at Vegas my flight was delayed an hour and a half. Soafter 4 hours in the Vegas airport I finally left and got to Seattlearound 1:15 AM Pacific. $50 and a Taxi Cab ride later I was at thehotel and sound asleep at 2 AM.

The trip itself was pretty cool and hitting up the game studio was simply awesome. What a great enviornment to work in.

Not only did they have lots of interesting stuff to look at, they had these giant battletech pods that used to be at Dave and Busters to play in! Great classics like Red Dawn and such can be played in these mech simulators. VERY COOL!

After the visit I met up with my cousin and took a bus ride back to his place in downtown Seattle. After checking out his closet (what they call an Apartment out west) we hit up the town for some awesome Thai food.

The following day I took a walk down to the Space Needle. The damn thing wasn’t half as big as I thought it was but still provided for some great sites!

After the Needle I headed down to the Pike Street Market. Home of the famous flying fish tossers. After walking up and down the market, I’ve determined that every nationality of food is represented here. Everything from Greek to Turkish and Japanese to Thai. Mix in some Italian and American and that makes for one hungry penguin!

After all that I headed back, exhausted from walking a good 10 miles. On the plus side I got a really cool pic of this building.

There are more pics of the whole trip up on my FlickR page.
